Dubai – 12 April, 2017 – Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) is thrilled to announce the launch date of the iconic Paramount Channel, the fastest growing brand in the VIMN International portfolio. Middle East audience members can tune in to Paramount (Ch. 34) from 15 April 2017 to catch a rich variety of blockbuster movies, contemporary series, and behind-the-scenes features including Forrest Gump, Castaway, Pulp Fiction and Mean Girls, all exclusively on OSN. The addition of Paramount Channel to Viacom’s portfolio is a result of an expanded distribution agreement with OSN to make even more channels and exclusive content available for OSN customers in the Middle East.

As part of the launch, Paramount Channel will be holding an exciting on-ground activation at Novo Cinemas from 20 – 24 April. The channel will recreate two blockbuster movie sets providing shoppers with interactive weekend entertainment and fun, immersive photo opportunities. The sets will be inspired by scenes from Castaway, the epic American survival drama starring Tom Hanks, and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, the tongue-in-cheek comedy featuring Will Ferrell as the leader of a 1970’s news team.

Paramount Channel is also excited to introduce a month of entertaining programme highlights to celebrate the regional launch. The channel delivers weekday ‘I Love That Movie’ content , featuring contemporary films and timeless masterpieces while also celebrating  specially curated ‘Thursday Focus’ events that will celebrate individual film stars, contemporary director hits, and specially themed line ups every Thursday. Prepare to spend a night among mobsters with Paramount Channel’s ‘Mob Mania’ one of May’s Thursday Focus’, featuring mafia-inspired movies Chicago, Dirty Pretty Things and Wrong Turn at Tahoe.

Paramount Channel draws on the history of the fabled Paramount brand. Founded in 1912 by Adolph Zukor, his partner Jesse L. Lasky, and renowned director Cecil B. DeMille, Paramount Pictures is the oldest operating studio in movie history, and is the only studio still based in Hollywood., . Building on this 100 year old reputation for quality films, Paramount Channel was launched five years ago and has been rapidly expanding. The MENA version will be the twelfth Paramount Channel in the world, expanding the brand’s reach to more than 94 million households across nearly 100 countries. All content will be available on the On Demand and OSN Play services.
